RBT assessment
Continuous Measurement - answer procedures taken throughout the entire session.
Data is recorded with every behavior that is displayed which makes this the most
important because it is the most accurate form of data that is collected.
Discontinuous Measurement - answer procedure that captures a sample of behavior
during an observation instead of all behavior.
Preference Assessment - answer having reinforcing options presented in different
orders. The client should be familiar with all of the reinforcers. Ask the client "which one
do you want" and allow them to choose only one item.
ABC Data - answer Antecedent, Behavior, Consequence.
Antecedent- What was happening right before the behavior occurred.
Behavior- What was the behavior
Consequence- What happened after the behavior was displayed
Discrete Trial Teaching - answerA structured technique that breaks down skills into
small discrete components. Therapist teaches these skills one by one. Therapist uses
tangible reinforcers for desired behaviors.
Naturalistic Teaching - answerApplying a skill the client has learned to the environment
around them.
Chaining - answerSequences of individual behaviors that when linked together form a
terminal behavior. Serve the purpose of identifying all of the smaller, teachable units of
a behavior that make up a behavior chain. For example, brushing teeth would be take
out tooth brush, take out toothpaste, remove cap from tooth paste, grab toothbrush in
left hand, grab tooth paste in right hand, and so on.
Shaping - answera process used in therapy in which a behavior or skill is gradually
taught by differentially reinforcing successive approximations to the behavior that the
teacher wants to create.
Discrimination Training - answera procedure that teaches one to respond to a specific
stimulus (Sd) but no other stimuli. For example, if you are trying to teach a client to
throw a ball, you will reinforce them overtime they throw the ball but not when they
throw other things like rocks or marbles.
Stimulus Control Transfer - answerA process in which prompts are removed once the
target behavior is occurring in the presence of the discriminative stimulus (Sd). Prompt
