Biomechanical Analysis of
Motion
Asst. Prof. Dr. Yasin Yurt
, Forces and Torques
• Several forces can be combined into a single
force.
• Adding forces together uses processes called
vector composition.
• Alternatively, a single force may be resolved
or “decomposed” into two or more forces.
• This process of decomposing a single force
into its components is termed vector
resolution.
,Analysis in Equilibrium, ∑F=0
(Static)
-Mathematical Method
Collinear Forces (on same plane and line)
Coplanar Forces (on same plane but on different lines)
, Collinear Forces
• The collinear forces can be combined by simply adding the force magnitud
vectors while paying attention to their directions.
