Chapter 7, MCO P4400.150 (Consumer-level Supply Policy Manual - ANS-Establishes
policies to account for ammo received, expended, and returned. Also provides guidance for
requisitioning, custody tracking.
\Environmental Impact on Range Exercises - ANS-OiC/RSO must account for: weather such
as lightning, precipitation, and winds. Fire conditions and the fire threat level. Environmental
surroundings and endangered species.
\MCO 8011.5 - ANS-Marine Corps Order that provides additional safety program
requirements for Class V(W) training ammo. Provides policies, procedures, and other info for
ammo used in training.
\MCO 8025.1 Ammo Malfunction Reporting - ANS-OiC must report the following;
-Unit firing the ammo
-Type of ammo that malfunction
-Weapons used to fire the ammo
-Description of the malfunction
-Prevailing conditions at the time of the malfunction
-Storage conditions
-Remarks or any other important info concerning the incident
\MCO P8020.10 - ANS-Marine Corps Order that establishes regs for ammo handling,
accountability, and reporting. Provides policy and requirements; transport, storage and
handling, security and accountability, malfunction reporting.
\Misfire - ANS-Complete failure to fire that may not necessarily be hazardous. It must be
handled as worst case in accordance with procedures for the weapon system.
\OiC Primary and Secondary Comms - ANS-As the OiC/RSO, you must verify and maintain
Comms with range control and other parties such as gate/tower guards during and
exercises.
\OiC Primary Comms - ANS-Is almost always conducted with a radio. A primary freq is
designated by range control. A back-up freq is also designated by range control.
\OiC Secondary Comms - ANS-Used to notify range control when the primary method fails.
(Cease fire is in effect until primary is back up). Range specs for secondary Comms are in
range sops. Most likely will be a land-line or cell phone.

\Range Components - ANS-Land, Airspace, waterways
\Reporting UXO and Misfires - ANS-OiC is req to submit a report on all UXO and misfires
that are experienced during an exercise for ammo tracking.
\Unexploded Ordinance (UXO) - ANS-Ammo, and explosives which have been primed,
fused, armed, or otherwise prepared for action, and then dropped, launched, projected or
placed in such a manner as to pose a hazard to operations, installations, personnel, or
materiel, and remains unexploded either by malfunction or design or from any other cause.
