Course objectives:
The key concept of the syllabus is to promote skill-oriented education on the basis of
NEP objectives. It enables learners to acquire mathematical proficiency essential for
dealing with the basic concepts of engineering and technical knowledge. The
curriculum is designed keeping in view the entry level psyche of the students with the
idea of easy comprehension of fundamental mathematical principles.

identity matrix, transpose of a matrix, symmetric and skew-
symmetric matrices. Operations on matrices: Addition,

Simple properties (without proof) of addition, multiplication
and scalar multiplication. Determinant of a square matrix (up to
3 × 3 matrices). Sarrus diagram for the evaluation of a
determinant. Minors and Cofactors. Properties of determinants
and simple problems, based on properties, to evaluate
