COMPONENTS OF ARCHITECTURE WHICH AFFECT

people. High and open spaces help us think freely and abstractly.
People in high-ceilinged rooms excel in problem solving. People
work to their highest potential.
iii. Negative Spaces: like low ceiling or packed spaces create a sense
of anxiety/phobia, it brings limitless to ones thinking.
iv. Colors: Colors have the magic to change someone’s mood.
Different colors make us feel different things like blue makes us
feel calmness and relaxation, red is the most eye attracting color, it
produces strong feelings like love and angry.
v. Openings: they create a connection between outside and the
inside of a room or building. Openings like windows bring in
sunlight and wind that helps us be energized and say healthy. E.g.
there are large windows in hospital as it is believed that the patient
will recover faster.
vi. Lightings: light can change the perspective of a space like a
cramped space can be felt larger if sufficient light is provided. Light
can also change our mood like bright light intensify our emotions
and dim light keeps our emotion steady.

pitched sound can create disturbance/irritation and spoil our mood.
Sound is adjusted according to the nature/use of the room; sound
proofing is done in cinemas to avoid reflection of sound but it is not
done in a classroom.
