,Physiology Flashback:
1) Measurement of Hearing
• Hearing is measured in Decibels (dB) of Hearing loss
• 0 dB = softest sound heard by a normal person
• dB scale is a logarithmic ratio, not an absolute
scale. Every increase of 10dB signifies a sound that
is 10 times louder (i.e. 10dB is 10 times louder than
0dB, and 20dB is 100 times louder than 0 dB, etc)
