Personal Leadership Assessment
Angela Harris Jones
Western Governors University
Explain how your perceived leadership effectiveness is supported by the results of each of
the three assessments (360° Refined™, CQ Pro, VIA Character Strengths).
360° Refined
How I saw my leadership abilities before I took any evaluations, I would have said that I thought
my ability to adapt to change and lead by example was a strength. I also would have mentioned
that I felt the need to improve in the areas of task completion and planning. With the 360°
Refined Leadership Assessment, I may not have been perfect, but I was pretty close. While I did
receive strong scores regarding integrity, courage, and decision-making, I found I had important
leadership areas that needed improvement.
My wish for my colleagues' success depended on our capacity to satisfy the demands and desires
of our customers. I believe it's true that I did the worst in the categories of planning and vision. I
occasionally take on tasks and projects too rapidly, which causes them to either take longer than
necessary or remain unfinished. particularly if I think the project is unnecessary. My planning
, and my lack of vision go hand in hand. I think I'm not seeing the "bigger picture."
Recognizing the potential effects of my behavior on others was crucial for me as a leader. The
behaviors won't change if I don't adjust to the change, make the necessary corrections, and set an
example. I am unable to focus on how I think a possible project affects my feelings. The leader
needs to be aware of people's emotional states. Acknowledging each person's contribution to a
task or project improves the overall emotional condition of all involved in general.
CQ Pro Assessment
The ability of an individual to perform well in a range of cultural contexts is measured by this
examination. I've had the chance to spend time in a variety of culturally diverse settings. I was
therefore shocked to see from the evaluation that my CQ Knowledge score—82—was not very
high. On CQ Drive, I received my best score of 93. This aligns with my desire to broaden my
knowledge and comprehend the advantages that these exchanges would provide. According to
Situational Leadership Theory, there is no one ideal method to lead or influence others; instead, a
leader must adapt their style of leadership to the circumstances and act in a way that is
appropriate for the work at hand and the followers' level of preparation (Henry, B. C. 2012).
It's critical to understand linguistic, cultural, and communicative distinctions while working with
different cultural groups. A leader who works with people from diverse backgrounds needs to be
flexible enough to adjust to changing circumstances. If not, communication may become
challenging due to linguistic and cultural barriers. It is beneficial to have some understanding of
the legal and economic structures of other civilizations. Not everyone is from the same
socioeconomic background or follows the same belief path.
A leader must sense each person's self-perception, values, and social interactions to comprehend
