can be authorized by the states for the emergency use of federally-registered pesticides

A Section 18 is required when the emergency use involves a pesticide that does not yet
have federal registration.

Adjuvants - ANSWER-a product added to the tank to improve a pesticides
performance.. it may improve the wetting ability of the mixture, increase the pesticides
penetration in to plants or insects tissue or may prevent pesticide drift.
Although adjuvants have no significant pesticidal activity, DPR regulates them in almost
the same way it regulates pesticides.

examples of adjuvants - ANSWER-Surfactants... helps pesticides get inside target
plants like weeds.

Stickers... helps the pesticide stay on the target plant's leaves.

Buffers... makes acidic or alkaline mix water more neutral.

Drift control agents or deposition aids... Prevent spray drift.

Defoamers... reduce tank-foaming

incompatibility Pesticides - ANSWER-Can cause pesticide mixture to form flakes,
Crystal's or oily lumps. Mixtures of incompatibility pesticides can clog equipment and
prevent good spray coverage on the target.

inert ingredients - ANSWER-Generally have no pesticidal activity at all. Their primary
purpose is to improve the pesticide performance... some common inert ingredients
include ( solvents, surfactants, buffers, compatibility agents... even water)

Lapsed or Cancelled Registration - ANSWER-1. Registrants cannot sell pesticides with
lasped registrations.

2. Pesticide dealers have 2 years to sell any lapsed pesticide products that have in
storage

3. End-Users have an unlimited amount of time to use the lapsed pesticide products
they have in storage.
