A vector is a quantity that has both magnitude and direction. Unlike a scalar, which only tells you how much, a vector tells you how much and in which direction. For example, if an object moves 5 meters to the north, that's a vector, because it includes distance and direction. Vectors are usually represented using arrows — the length of the arrow shows the magnitude, and the arrow points in the direction of the vector. Common examples of vectors in physics include velocity, force, acceleration, and displacement. Vectors are important in many fields like physics, engineering, and navigation, and they can be added, subtracted, and multiplied using special rules.

Types of Vectors

1. Unit Vectors:

Think of these as specially scaled-down versions of regular vectors. Essentially, you take any vector (let's c

Unit Vector = Vector / Magnitude

This makes the vector have a length of 1.

2. Initial Vectors:

Vectors that share the same starting point.

3. Equal Vectors:

Vectors that point in the same direction and have the same magnitude (length).

4. Collinear Vectors:

Vectors that are parallel to the same line. For example, vector a and vector c sitting neatly alongside each o

5. Coplanar Vectors:

Vectors that lie within the same plane.

6. Negative of a Vector:

This is a vector that has the same magnitude as the original but points in the opposite direction.
