1 Important information
All coordinate systems in this test are orthogonal and right-handed.
√
In this test, you can fill in your answer as an algebraic calculation of numbers, for example 10 2
can be filled in as:
2*5*(2)∧(1/2)
or
2*5*sqrt(2)
or
20*sin(pi/4)
or
14.142
Use the typed-out “pi” instead of the symbol “π”. Do not insert units into the same field as
numbers, only into provided separate unit fields.
Be sure to use a decimal point not a comma! So fill in 0.333 instead of 0,333 if you want to fill
in decimal number version of 1/3. Your numerical answer is allowed to have a small rounding
off error of ±2% compared to the true answer.
The MapleTA test of this week consists of 13 questions. They are mostly ordered, such that
more difficult questions are towards the end, and thus, the subjects of both weeks are mixed.
Nevertheless, use your time wisely, and don’t get stuck on questions you don’t know how to
answer. In this test, Matlab may be used.
For the printed version, three additional comments apply:
• Fill out your name and Student ID at the top of each page of the question sheets. Check
whether you filled in your studentID correctly.
• Answers to multiple choice questions need to be given by encircling the character(s) of the
answer(s) you think is/are correct.
• Answers to numerical questions need to be written on the line directly below the numerical
question.
• For numerical questions, sometimes units are required. Do not forget them.
