Epinephrine (Adrenalin) - ANSWER Use: Cardiac Stimulant
Side effects and teaching points: Vesicant; Avoid MAOIs and TCAs. Can cause HTN,
dysrhythmias, pulmonary edema, CP, and restlessness
Norepinephrine (Levophed) - ANSWER Use: Cardiac Stimulant
Side effects and teaching: Vesicant that can cause HTN and dysrhythmias
Dopamine (Inotropin) - ANSWER Use: Cardiac Stimulant
Side effects and teaching: Vesicant; Avoid MAOIs and TCA's, can cause HTN, agina,
dysrhythmias. Pt will be DOSE DEPENDENT

Administer Q5 minutes x3 sublingually and call 911 after the first dose. Rotate patches Q12H.
