Actuator - ANSA device that is electrically or vacuum controlled and is used to physically move doors
with in the heater box to control airflow.
Boiling Point - ANSThe temperature at which a substance begins to change from a liquid to a gas.
Centrifugal Force - ANSA force pulling outward on a rotating body.
Conduction - ANSMovement of heat energy through solids.
Convection - ANSMovement of heat energy through gasses or liquids.
Coolant - ANSA fluid that contains anti-freeze mixed with water.
Coolant Control Valve - ANSA valve that blocks off coolant flow to keep hot water from entering the
heater core when less heat is requested by the operator.
Cooling Hoses - ANSFlexible hoses that connect to stationary components of the cooling system, such as
heater core and radiators, to the engine, which is mounted on flexible mounts.
Cross-Flow Radiator - ANSA radiator that uses cooling tubes that run horizontal with tanks on each end.
This design allows lower hood profiles for better vehicle aerodynamics.
Down-Flow Radiator - ANSA radiator that uses cooling tube that run vertical. This design requires a
higher hood profile.
Electrolysis - ANSThe process of pulling metals apart by using electricity or by creating electricity through
the use of chemicals and dissimilar metals.
Ethylene Glycol - ANSA chemical used as anti-freeze the provides the lower freezing point of coolant and
raises the boiling point. It is a toxic anti-freeze.
