2. In your own words, describe the purpose and general principles of property
management .
The purpose and general principle of property management are to assist the owner in
leasing/renting out their property and collecting a reasonable return. Overall its purpose is
to act in the best interest of the owner (through activities such as advertising and
marketing the property, to maintaining the property, keeping it tenanted, collecting rent,
budgeting and maintaining records) under current rules, legislation and regulation.
