course in the administration of local anesthesia which is offered by a dental or dental hygiene
program accredited by the commission of dental accreditation of the American dental
association or approved by the board
Must take course within state, it does not transfer over. Must complete 60 hours in the state
you wish to be certified.

Local Anesthesia certificate or permit allows a dental hygienist under the direct supervision of a
Florida licensed dentist to administer to - ANS *Non sedated patients
* 18 years of age or older
The permit shall be issued by the department of health to a Florida licensed dental hygienist
who has completed the appropriate didactic and clinical education and experience as required
by section 466.017(5)

- the patient must not be sedated
- the CRDH May administer intro oral block, soft tissue infiltration anesthesia
