knowledge. “SCIENCE IS PRACTICE”
Scientific Method - Refers to a system of acquiring knowledge which uses
systematic observation and experimentation.
Technology - Came from the word “TECHNE” meaning art, craft or skill. It explores
the purpose of making something useful from knowledge. “TECHNOLOGY IS
PRACTICE”
Society - Came from the word “SOCIETAS” meaning friend, ally or interaction
between people.
Science, Technology and Society
● The essence of how science and technology contributes to society is the
creation of new knowledge and then utilization of that knowledge to boost the
prosperity of human lives and to solve the various issues facing society.
● Science is applied to make technology. Technology is invented to make the
life of society easier and more convenient.
