- If front wheels are unbalanced it could cause the steering wheel to shake.
Tyre Pressure - ANS - Check at least once a week when the tyres are cold.(ensure accurate
reading)
- If under inflated it could cause steering heavy, increase fuels consumption and increase your
stopping distance.
Batteries - ANS - Batteries may need topping up with distilled water unless they are
maintenance free.
Brake Fluid - ANS - If this is low air may enter the system and the breaks will not work
properly.
Oil and coolant levels - ANS - Especially important before long journeys, if over filled it can
cause leaks.
ABS - anti lock braking system - ANS - Light should go out when the car is traveling 5-10 mph
Break Fade - ANS - Is when the breaks become less effective because of overheating, it may
happen if they are used continuously such as on a long steep down hill stretch of road.
- Use a low gear to help control the vehicles speed
Steering Vibrates - ANS - Visits a garage as the wheels may need balancing
