What types of evidence from real life as well as research support the James-Lange
theory? Describe this evidence.
Physiological changes occur when we feel emotions such as increased heart rate,
sweating, even light-headedness or muscle tension and research shows that there are
patterns between certain emotions and physiological responses. In real life, when you
are in a situation where you are nervous, sweating and an increased heart rate can
occur or when you are happy your muscles can be relaxed and this supports that our
bodies do react before we are fully aware of the emotion we are feeling. Facial feedback
hypothesis states that facial expressions can influence certain emotions as well such as
smiling makes you feel happier and frowning makes you feel sad and this also supports
that physical changes can trigger certain emotional states. The facial feedback
hypothesis also states that even if the facial expressions are forced or "fake" they can
still trigger certain emotions. Research supports this as well because as discussed in
the module it showed that cartoons were funnier when people watched them with fake
smiles and that certain facial feedbacks can trigger that emotion.
The theory states that our emotional experience depends on both
physiological changes and cognitive appraisal of the situation.

Define what internal locus of control is. Then, provide a specific and fairly detailed
example. The internal locus of control is the belief of the ability to control certain events
in your sphere. If you have an internal locus of control you have the ability of control
over your life and will be more highly motivated to act upon things. Internal locus of
control is the personal responsibility of the control of your life and the events that occur
in it. For example- if I receive a poor grade on my biochemistry exam, it makes me
