350 000 steel workers strike
Government sent in the army
Red scare:
Scared of communists
Russia becomes communist 1918

Mitchell palmer (Attorney general):
With the aid of FBI director J. Edgar Hoover led a search for communists
Because of threats and attacks
Bombings blamed on communists
Bomb was sent to palmers house
Palmer raids
SA headquarter
Labor union headquarters

Racial unrest:
Because of Great migration more black people in cities
White soldiers came back from war and told the african americans to make place for them
African americans refuse
Increased rioting in cities
Black boy swam on the wrong side of a beach and got stoned and killed by whites
Riot emerged from that event
After the war many black soldiers came back and didn't get the respect they should get
