Subject: Empathy Ratings as a Predictor of Donation.
Introduction
From the table below, it is clear that most of the respondents are empathetic of others as
shown by the median, in which most of them have been rated at a median of 4 in 8 groups out of
10 groups of respondents, showing a median rating of 4, is encouraging since it means that most
of the people are empathic and thus are willing to donate as compared to those people who are
distressed since they tend to think about themselves alone. According to Psychology Journal by
(Lay et al., 2020), societal norms and empathy are good predictors of donations. Thus, as the
table below validates, the empathy ratings are very high on average. Therefore, it shows that the
American people are generally likely to donate to nonprofit organizations or any charity cause
more often than not. The level of charity, as indicated by empathy ratings, is above average. It
means it is likely to inform decisions if it is submitted to nonprofit organizations to use the
information to raise funds through well-wishers, and since eight out of ten groups of respondents
were rated at a median rating of 4 in terms of empathy means that the organization is likely to
collect more than expected donations from the public.
