I selected provision two which states that, the nurse’s primary commitment is to the patient, whether an individual, family, group, community, or population
(Winland, Lachman & Swanson, 2015). This provision talks about how preserving professional boundaries, being patient advocate during interdisciplinary
collaboration, and resolving conflict of interest among care givers and between care givers and patients, ensure primacy of the patient’s interests.
I chose this provision because I believe at the core of all nurses should be the mantra patient first.
