Nursing informatics is the practical integration of nursing care science and skills with
information technology to realize a more effective data analysis and information management in
healthcare (Wang and Byrd, 2018). A nursing informatics system can process, manage, define,
and transmit data and information to various persons in a network. The computerized evolution
plays a vital role in the health sector, including assisting in knowledge and decision-making
processes in nursing practice. Nursing informatics is impactful in realizing better nursing
practice outcomes (McGonigle and Mastrian, 2015). The latter improves nursing delivery
efficiency in several ways.
There is a need to improve patient with the emergence of more complicated ailments. The
world is stricken by a disease that demands the best nursing care practice. For instance,
communicable diseases infection cases are on the increase in various part of the world, with
more deaths reported daily. Nursing care is the central point in realizing better healthcare
outcomes. Nursing informatics is one of the ways to improve patient care efficiency and hence
improve general healthcare system outcome (McGonigle and Mastrian, 2015). Implementation of
nursing informatics project in healthcare system calls for various requirements, including the
relevant personnel to operate the technical infrastructure, financial input, and relevant support of
various stakeholders.
The healthcare nursing informatics project proposed in this paper is an integrated
healthcare informatics system, including electronic healthcare records management, new nurse
training, automated task allocation, and performance evaluation system (McGonigle and
Mastrian, 2015). The integrated nursing system will be able to handle and coordinate various
healthcare system department s including patient data, facilitating the training of new nurses,
allocating doctors and nurses to registered patients, helping in the medical decision-making
