SYRIAN CRISIS
REASONS OF SYRIAN CRISIS:
A. Political suppression of the opposition by Assad regime
No right of expression, no freedom of speech and political suppression of
the opposition through force which led agitation by the people in
opposition.
B. Corruption which led public to agitation
Excessive taxation by the regime, sanction by the USA plus EXTREEM
POVERTY due to scarcity added fuel to fir. According to UN report in 2024,
90% population was below poverty.
C. Humanitarian crisis coupled with the civil war
Killing of innocent people through violent aggression by the Syrian military
along with no permission for UN humanitarian assistance, coupled with war
crime like use of chemical weapons turn public against the regime
D. External interference
World powers like USA, Russia, KSA and Iran engaged in civil war of Syria
which led to massive killing of the innocent public. This resulted in
catastrophic situation for the innocent people and in result Asad’S own
Army revolt against Asad and became free Syrian Army.
E. Involvement of terrorist organization
Like ISIS, Assad regime had to fight not just with revolt but it had to deal
with terrorist organization. These organization destabilized the country,
challenged controlled by Asad and complicated the entire conflict.
F. Loss of popular support

policies against the majority because his policy was of peace through
strength.
G. International isolation of Syria
Global isolation always increase the chances of the conflict and when
countries with influence left Syria. They were dependent on few power like
