Present Continuous tenses (1)
The present continuous expresses a temporary situation ( an action
happening now or these days).
- I’m having lunch at the moment.
- He’s studying for the test these days.
Tense Form:
V. To (be) + main verb + ing
Am / is / are Going / doing
- He's doing his homework now.
- They're reading a letter from a friend.
[Note]: for present continuous tenses, we have to omit the (e) at the end of
the verb before hanging it into (-ing).
-Have / Having.
-Share / Sharing.
[Note]: Double the consonant at the end of the verb preceded by a vowel
(-ing).
-Sit / Sitting
-Stop / Stopping
-Swim / Swimming
[Note]: Verbs that end in (ie) are changed into (y) before adding (-ing).
-Lie / Lying
-Die / Dying
