Part 1: Measurement Conversion
Problem 1
1.
a. There are five shelves, and each is 64 cm long. So, the total length of the wood for
the shelves is 5 shelves × 64 cm = 320 cm. The total length of the top is 65.5cm.
If each side measures 192cm, the length of two rectangular sides of the wood is
192cm × 2 = 384. In this case, the total length needed for the wood will be 384
cm + 65.5 cm + 320 cm = 769.5 cm.
b. If 1 cm = 0.0328084 feet, how many feet are in 769.5cm? 0.0328084ft/cm ×
769.5 cm = 25.24606 ft.
Also, convert the decimal part to inches; 12 in/ft × 0. 24606 ft = 2.95272 in.
