1.0 INTRODUCTION
Contactless payment system is a system that will be able to pay salaries using a code. The
company will provide the payroll for their employees to the bank and the bank will provide a
code to each employee. The employees will withdraw their salaries in the M-pesa app using the
code. The withdraw option will provide the Persons Identification Card number,the amount, and
the person Identification Number(PIN) to complete the process of withdraw.

,1.1 Background Information
Maramba farm is a company that was formed in the early 60’s with few empoyees
and five shareholders. The company majors mainly with tea production. The
company has a good number of sub-ordinate employees but the employees receive
their salaries in form of cash payment. The main objective of this system is to
automate their payment process. This will eliminate a lot of challenges incurred.
1.2 Statement of the Problem
The current system has the following challenges-:
i. Ghost workers who receive salaries close to the respective employees.
ii. Signatures. Some employees forge other employee’s signatures which leads to
disagreements and no proof.
iii. Time wastage. Long queues are experienced during the pay day which takes a
lot of time.
iv. Risk of cash. This happens mostly when the accountant pays more or less to
the respective employee
v. Cost. The accountant needs transport fee, and the security needs allowance for
securing the salaries
1.3 Proposed Solution
The use of code technology will be implemented to overcome such challenges.It will
be easier to use especially to the respective employees. It is also reliable and saves
time for both the employee and the employer.

the project has some features that will help to achieve some objectives
i. Data Security
It will make sure that the records are well kept and secured
ii. Reports and analysis
It will provide analyzed framework and provide relevant reports
iii. Processing
This system will provide faster processing
iv. Fewer errors
This system will be efficient in data handling

1.5.1General Objectives
I understand the scope and challenges involved in carrying out Contactless payment System.
To understand the various methodologies that can be applied in data collection for
Contactless Payment System to collect data.
To analyse or interpret project data and make conclusions based on the subject matter of
the project.
To develop system information system that satisfies an organization’s informational,
operational and management requirements. This system being developed
I.) will be user friendly
ii.) have customer care support and many others which will be beneficial
to the company.
To write and present project report in an organized manner, taking into consideration the
neatness and standard the format.
To identify the challenges faced by employees in the company.
