ex. tom sawyer is a dynamic character because when Becky tore the school master's
book he said he did it and took the punishment
Static Character - Answer- a character that remains the same
autobiographical fiction - Answer- a mixture of real life events and imagined events
ex. tom sawyer is based off Mark twain and his school mates
new realism - Answer- literature that shows the world as it really is with real
problems
ex. different from earlier realistic literature because it shows problems that people
face every day and that children can connect to
ex. great gilly hopkins shows the real life of a foster child
regression - Answer- when a person stops becoming mature and starts acting like a
child
ex. harriets behavior in the second half of the book shows her regression. she
doesn't do her homework and acts like a spoiled brat
