shape and size during ventilation.

Lungs - Answer -Either of the two saclike respiratory organs in the thorax of

humans and higher vertebrae.

Nasal Cavity - Answer -Large air filled space above and behind the nose in the

middle of the face.

Pharynx - Answer -Membrane lined cavity behind the nose and mouth connecting

them to the esophagus.

Larynx - Answer -Hollow muscular organ forming an air passage to lungs and

holding vocal cords.

Atmospheric Pressure - Answer -Must be higher that intrapulmonary pressure for

inspiration to occur. Pressure exerted by weight of the atmosphere.

Spirometer - Answer -Instrument that measures the volume of air.
