History of McDonald’s
The McDonald’s timeline starts in 1940. The mcdonalds company was founded in
1940 by two brothers in calafornia. Richard and Maurice McDonald. The goal of the
two brothers was to provide fast service and cheap food.
In 1960, Ray Kroc bought all the rights to the McDonald’s company from Richard and
Maurice McDonald. Kroc bought the company at a price of $2.7 million dollars.
The company designed a logo in 1960 that would be used to identify the McDonald’s
company. The company had first used a logo of a man with a chef’s hat on top of a
hamburger. Ray Kroc decided to change that logo.
The first McDonalds fast food restaurants outside the United States were opened in
Canada and Puerto Rico during 1967.
Between 1973 and 1980 the McDonalds company expanded to 13 other countries.
Including the Netherlands.
The boss of the McDonald’s company, Ray Kroc died in 1984. The management of
the company was taken over by Ronald McDonald.
