Declining Vehicle Deliveries:
In 2024, Tesla sold many cars—almost 1.8 million in total. Tesla vehicle fell by about 13%in early 2025

Even though Tesla is making more cars now, they are not delivering all of them to customers. So, cars are

Autopilot safety investigations, frequent recalls, and customer complaints on build quality cast shadows on
Tesla's premium positioning.
Tesla has implement many battery features such as crash sensors that tiggers mechanical disconnects and
strong battery pack protection. however, tesla lacks fully automatic, instant battery shutdown system that
immediately cuts off high voltage battery right after a crash to prevent fires. The absence of this feature has
led to several high profile battery fire incidents, affecting tesla brand perception. In 2025, about 233 tesla
cars have caught fire after fire happened in California .
LEADERSHIP TURNOVER:
High-profile exits in key teams (AI, sales, HR) have sparked fears about internal culture and operational
coherence.

3. OPPORTUNITIES FOR TESLA

LOCAL MANUFACTURING: Building factories in India would lower car prices, avoid import
taxes, and make Teslas more affordable and competitive just like Tesla did in China.
Tesla is planning a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) assembly plant in Satara, Maharashtra, meaning
vehicles will be assembled locally from imported parts to reduce import duties and costs. The land
acquisition and approval processes are still ongoing, and construction or production is expected to take time,
likely starting in 2026 or later.
Maharashtra offers advantages such as proximity to existing auto hubs, suppliers, and ports making it a
strategic location.
