Organizational Plan
1. Establish a governance structure. How will the new organization/affiliation be
structured?
The new organization/affiliation will be structured as a clinically affiliated network. As
defined in Spees, J. (2014, October 9), healthcare organizations can collaborate with
care and share costs of the infrastructure (p. 3). I believe that this will be the best option
for Twin Pines Medical Center (TPMC) and an affiliate so that they can keep independent
decisions while still navigating an alliance and partnership. As the ultimate goal of
affiliation for TPMC is to integrate more resources and care into the diabetic community,
this will be the clearest path to success. In addition, with a clinically affiliated network
structure, the CEOs and other leading officers will be able to remain in their positions
without an entire shuffle of system organization. The collaboration between the two
CEOs and their respective leadership teams will be important to the success of the
affiliation.
2. Strategy. Describe the overarching vision and mission of the affiliation.
The overarching vision and mission of the affiliation are to be able to provide high-quality
and comprehensive care to the diabetic population around Twin Pines Medical Center
who are underserved and in many cases, uninsured. The goals of the affiliation will be:
1. Implement procedures and resources to assist with patients’ ability to access
healthcare or health insurance.
2. Increase preventative care to help manage the diabetic population who use Twin
Pines Medical Center’s facilities.
3. Sources and resources. How will people and financial resources be allocated to
accomplish these goals?
