,DEFINITION:
• Sutures is also known as “stitches”
• A stitch or row of stitches holding together the edges of a
wound or surgical incision.
• Some wounds may require an alternative method like metal
staples instead of sutures it all depends on the wound.
, GOALS OF SUTURING:
• Wound healing by primary intention
• Minimize scaring
• Maximal esthetic and functional results
