The Greek definition of Democracy - answer- self government by the many; ruled by the common people exercised directly in open assemblies. Face to face decision making. In order to prevent recession the government should: 1. cut taxes government increase gov spending- increasing for short amount of time Supply-side economics - answer- Two things government should do to avoid depression 1. cut taxes (corporations included)- to inverse their money 2. Decrease government spending- you cut social programs. Ex) education, welfare ,Cut funding for mental health services, cut for Alzheimer research. Argues that economic growth can be most effectively created by investing in capital, and by lowering barriers on the production of good and services.

boundaries for both lower chambers and state senate.

Plessy vs Ferguson (1896) - answer- Supreme court established the separate but
equal doctrine.

Marbury vs Madison - answer- The court claimed the power of judicial review- the
right to declare the actions of other branches of government null and void if they are
contrary to the constitution.

Griswold vs Connecticut - answer- established doctrine of the right to privacy. (birth
control)

Roe vs Wade - answer- an extension of the right to privacy and also legalized
abortion in the U.S. The court ruled in favor of a woman's right to terminate her
pregnancy

Miranda vs Arizona - answer- Established Miranda rights: right to remain silent,
guarantees the your rights as the accused.
The supreme court rued that detained criminal suspects, prior to police questioning ,
must be informed of their constitutional rights to an attorney and against self
incrimination.

Brown v Board of Education - answer- (challenge the constitutionality of Plessy vs
Fergerson) SC case in which the court declared state laws of establishing separate
public schools for black and white student unconstitutional.
