- The expiration date of the product according to the manufacturer or one (1) year from the
date the drug or medical device is dispensed, whichever comes first, subject to the
discretion of the pharmacist to select an earlier date on which the life of a compounded
drug product may expire.
-If a prescription order is for a controlled substance, the label shall also include
a clear, concise warning that it is a crime to transfer the drug to any person other than the
patient.

Persons registered to manufacture, distribute, or dispense controlled substances under this
chapter shall keep records and maintain inventories in conformance with the record-
keeping and inventory requirements of federal law, laws of the District of Columbia, and
with any additional rules which the Mayor issues.
- INSPECTIONS: Division or designees, and shall maintain the reports or notices on the
registered premises in a manner so as to make them available upon request of the Director
or inspector for a period of at least two (2) years.
