THE BENEFITS OF READING
Reading varies on the perspectives of people. To some it is done during leisure time, others to while away time, to most when
an examination is coming up and to many reading is boring and stressful.
Reading should not be just for fun or to impromptu, it should be part of us, it should be inculcated into this generation that now
spend more time on phone.
Some benefits of reading are listed thus:
1). Reading opens your eyes to different cultures - imagine going to a place where you know nothing about its do's and don'ts it
makes you feel scared right??. But when you read you gather informations letting you know it's beliefs , taboos, lifestyles,
history and many more. Letting you thread with caution - that's the power of reading.
2). Reading creates opportunities- reading gives room for better grades and competitions. Who would give a job opportunity to
am uneducated?. Even if given it would be of a lesser worth to that of someone who is educated. Looking around the most
respected, famous and successful persons are all educated.
3). Reading lets you live
4). Reading creates community
5). Reading is entertaining
Above is the summary if some points given by the speaker ( Ella Lee ). I agree with these. Now, some points made by me are
thus:
* Reading makes you creative.
* Reading expands your thinking horizon.
* Reading keeps you from dangers.
Though not everyone loves to read it should be included in the curriculum of children at a very early age.
