Subject: Proposal to provide the IB students with free Wi-Fi for academic purposes.
We are writing this letter to you to present a solution to the recurring issue of students
not having enough internet data to do their research in class, or access their assignments in
Google Classroom. Many of our fellow students tend to struggle with limited or unstable
access to the internet, which impairs their performance in class. As you know, much of our
coursework, including accessing resources, such as books or educational videos, submitting
assignments, and participating in discussions, relies heavily on the internet. This issue not
only affects our academic performance but also causes a restraint on using our internet data
for personal reasons in order to save it for academic purposes.
We would like to propose that the IB coordination provides free Wi-Fi access for its students
specifically for academic purposes. This initiative would ensure that all students have equal
opportunities to succeed in the program, regardless of their personal circumstances. By
offering a secure, school-managed Wi-Fi network, we can also ensure that the usage
remains focused on educational content, thus maintaining the integrity of the learning
environment.
We as students commit to maintaining the access limited to solely the IB students, and not
sharing the password with other students who are not in the program. As well as not
connecting more than 2 devices at a time in order to preserve the quality of it.
Furthermore, providing this resource would align with the IB's mission to develop inquiring,
knowledgeable, and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful
world through intercultural understanding and respect. Ensuring access to essential online
resources is a critical part of achieving these goals, since it will allow us to access
information from all around the world, and maybe even communicate with other IB students
from different countries or even continents.
We also believe that this proposal will not only support the academic success of current
students but also enhance the overall reputation of our IB program in this school. We would
greatly appreciate the opportunity to discuss this idea further and explore how we can work
together to implement it as soon as possible.
Thank you for considering our proposal. We look forward to your reading response.
Sincerely,
International Baccaulaureate Students
