, Binary To Decimal Conversion
Sum of Weights Method:
• Used to convert a binary number of any magnitude to its
equivalent Decimal representation.
• The weights corresponds to each of the binary bits are
multiplied by the corresponding binary value.
• Binary bits having value 0 do not contribute any value
towards the final sum expression.
• For Example:
100112=(1 x 24)+(0 x 23)+(0 x 22)+(1 x 21)+(1 x 20)
= (1 x 16)+(0 x 8)+(0 x 4)+(1 x 2)+(1 x 1)
=16 + 0 + 0 + 2 + 1 = 19
• In this example 23 and 22 do not contribute in the final sum.
