Week 5 Final Paper CRJ 201: Introduction to Criminal Justice People v. Joey Juvenile Today we are going to take a look at the case of Joey Juvey. Mr. Juvey was brought in on drug-related charges and is currently being held in a juvenile detention center while he awaits trial. Due to the charges, the state is wanting to transfer Joey Juvie from the juvenile justice system to the adult criminal justice system. The case today will be stating the kind of impact it could have on this young man if he were to be transferred to an adult criminal justice system. We will also be touching base on how unsanitary the correctional facilities living conditions are, and how this is violating the Eighth Amendment. This case will also be examining how law enforcement officers neglectfully did not read Juveys Miranda rights in his primary language. Finally, we will be expressing concern in jury selection, so the defendant has a fair chance.
