(2) almost always chooses solitary activities
(3) little, if any, interest in having sex
(4) takes pleasure in few, if any, activities
(5) lacks close friends/confidants other than first-degree relatives
(6) appears indifferent to the praise/criticism
(7) emotional coldness, detachment, or flat affect

Schizoid PD Diagnostic Criteria B - ANSWER-Does not occur exclusively during the
course of Schizophrenia, a Mood Disorder With Psychotic Features, another
Psychotic Disorder, or a Pervasive Developmental Disorder and is not due to the

Schizotypal personality disorder - ANSWER-•Like individuals with schizoid
personalities, have little capacity for close relationships, but would like to
•eccentric in their behaviors, perceptions, and thinking

Schizotypal PD Diagnostic Criteria A - ANSWER-Pervasive pattern of
social/interpersonal deficits w/reduced capacity for close relationships as well as by
cognitive/ perceptual distortions/eccentricities of behavior; early adulthood. Indicated
by 5+ of the following:
(1) ideas of reference (excluding delusions)
(2) odd beliefs/magic thinking that influences behavior and is inconsistent with
subcultural norms (e.g., superstitious)
(3) unusual perceptual experiences, including bodily illusions
(4) odd thinking/speech (metaphoric, vague)
(5) suspiciousness/paranoid ideation
(6) inappropriate/constricted affect
