"In the course and scope of your employment " - ANS Armed guard must have a
firearm permit
A firearm must also not be used to - ANS Handled recklessly, practice quick
draws, warning shots, aim to frighten someone, fire at objects, and not checking the
parts on the weapon such as ammunition
A firearm must not be used - ANS To apprehend, demonstrate authority, to show
off, or offensive weapon
A guard may use a firearm if ONLY - ANS there is an eminent threat to the
guard's life or to another person's life
An armed can only carry a firearm while off duty, - ANS If they are goin to firing
range, residence, work site
An armed guard can still wear civilian clothes if they have - ANS A valid guard
card, firearms permit, issued by local law enforcement, peace officer or retired as a
guard, and a personal bodyguard
Bureau will not issue firearm permit to - ANS A convicted felon, a person
convicted of a misdemeanor that is prohibited of a firearm 10 years, and a person who
has a restraining order or domestic violence, and crime of violence
Civil liability - ANS The party is required to pay for the damages
Criminal liability - ANS Person held legally responsible for breaking the law
How many firearms may an armed guard carry? - ANS one firearm not multiple
How many rounds discharge? - ANS 50 rounds. First time is practice. Second
time is where its scored. 5 points each.
If a guard does not comply with the rules and regulations of a firearms permit - ANS
they can be subject to criminal prosecution and bureau discipline. As for the company, it
would be discipline as well.
, If a guard fails to apply for renewal of a firearms permit prior to the expiration date on
the permit - ANS apply for a new firearms permit as an initial applicant and may
not carry a firearm while on duty until a new firearm permit is issued by the bureau.
If peace officers are retired, - ANS They must still possess a guard card and
firearms permit. They also need to requalify as well.
In order to carry a firearm on duty, a guard must have both - ANS A security
