What do you look for when assessing perfusion? - answer-Color
-Condition
-Temperature
-Capillary Refill (in pediatric patients)
Amount of respirations needed for positive pressure ventilations - answer-Less than 8
-More than 28
Signs of Respiratory Distress - answer-Agitations
-Restlessness
-Stridor/Wheezing
-Tachypnea
-accessory muscle use
-mild tachycardia
What should you do if vomit/secretion is in the airway - answer1. Head tilt chin lift
(medical)/Jaw thrust (trauma)
2. Suction for 15 sec
3. Use oropharyngial airway
4. If patient doesn't tolerate then use nasopharyngial airway
Signs of Respiratory Failure - answer-lethargy, difficult to rouse
-tachypnea with periods of bradypnea or agonal respirations
-inadequate chest rise/poor excursion
-inadequate respiratory rate or effort
-bradycardia
-diminished muscle tone
