🔆 What is it?
A bioluminescent mushroom is a special type of fungus that produces its
own light. It emits a soft green glow and shines in the dark.
🔬 What is this process called?
This glow is called bioluminescence –the same natural phenomenon
seen in fireflies.
� How is the light produced?
The mushroom contains an enzyme: Luciferase And a natural chemical:
Luciferin. When these come in contact with oxygen, a chemical reaction
occurs that produces light.
🌏 Where is it found?
Japan, Taiwan, Brazil, Indonesia, Sri Lanka. Rarely found in the forests of
South India as well.
� When does it grow?
Only during the monsoon or in very humid conditions, usually grows on
fallen tree bark or decaying wood.

It is very rare
Its green glow makes it stand out from all other plants and fungi.
