Answer the following questions:
1.) Why is it that audio/sound is considered as one of the most critical element of a multimedia
application?
Audio/sound is used to enhance the multimedia application in various ways. Audio/sound is the best
way to attract attention; it provides an effective way to convey an idea, cause an emotion, or dramatize
a point.
In education, some countless applications and programs are designed to teach learners utilizing the
internet. You can find that they require audio/sound when you look at the internet and education, so
education is much easier. People who want to learn something using the power of the internet will
much rather watch an educational video where someone explains everything than to read an article
because the audio/sound part makes everything much easier. In the film, excellent audio/sound
production can provide instant interpretation and direction of a scene, enhancing emotion or feelings.
Good audio/sound is not often noticed, but bad audio/sound will destroy the best video production.
All multimedia applications need audio/sound; watching video tutorials without audio is useless as you
have nothing to learn. Imagine turn off the sound on your favorite horror movie will look like a cartoon
and become not scary.
2.) How multimedia affects the business world?
Nowadays, multimedia has enormous effects in the business world. If you look at the available
multimedia packages, they are keeping more coming and added; before, we have only PC based, and
now we have mobile.
Multimedia can be used in many business applications in terms of facilities that might change the
whole business's outlook. If we consider the global team, multimedia and communication technology
have opened the door to forming global workgroups. Today, the team members may work anywhere
and work for various companies; they can sit in one place and work in multiple companies from
different cities or countries. As the workplace becomes global, the multimedia network should support
the facilities such as voice mail, e-mail, and other such facilities. As an example, from my own
experience, I worked for so many years abroad as an OFW. Now I am working from my home's comfort
here in the Philippines as a full-time employee for a company abroad through the help of multimedia
and communication technology.
The business world is continuously changing. We as professionals have to adapt and find new ways to
meet the business's changing needs, and we must understand and embrace the implications of these
changes.
