7 Dimensions of ABA:
• Generality- Behavior change that lasts over time, generalizes to other behaviors other than the
behavior targeted during the initial intervention, and will appear in environments outside of the
original environment that it was taught in
• Effective- Behavior changes that have occurred in a practical manner. Also result in meaningful,
clinical and/or social significance
• Technological- A detailed outline of intervention procedures used, so that an outside BCBA or other
person can easily understand and replicate your intervention procedure used. Includes an outline of the
data and results in clear details
• Applied- Clinicians commitment to helping improving the clients behaviors and quality of life
• Analytic- A functional relationship is made between environmental changes and target behavior
changes, and make data-driven decisions
• Conceptually Systematic- The procedures used are only ones that relate to the basics and
fundamental principles of a behavior analyst
• Behavioral- Observable and measurable behavior is the focus of the work of a behavior analyst

1. Benefiting others
• Our work should prioritize our clients needs
• Our work should be about meaningful change for our clients
2. Treat others with compassion, dignity, and respect
• Treat people like individuals with their own reasons for doing what they do
• Value people (even if they challenge or disagree with us)

• Teach people that they can trust us to communicate when issues come up

• Should only do professional tasks (that you can do well)

• Receive appropriate supervision

Cultural Humility- To be aware of the relationship between you as a practitioner and your clients, and to
have an understanding that cultural imbalances may cause disparities in access to services. Cultural
imbalances may also cause disparities in the outcomes of services:
• In service delivery
• In professional relationships

• Make sure your treatment plans take into consideration each individual client’s cultural background and
their perspectives
• It’s important to know about your clients socioeconomic status and the culture of their family.
Understand that it might alter some of what is socially significant to that client and/or their family
• An example of taking into consideration your clients cultural background would be when using food as
a reinforcer. Your clients family may be halal or have other beliefs and traditions when it comes to their
food. Therefore, you need to take into consideration that although a certain food might be a good
reinforcer for majority of your clients, that doesn’t mean it will work for every client
• Make sure you are applying this to your treatments and clients every day
