SPCE 611: Advanced Applied Behavior Analysis
BACB 6th Edition Test Content Outline Items to Cover
G.1. Design and evaluate positive and negative reinforcement procedures.
H.3. Select socially valid alternative behavior to be established or increased when a
target behavior is to be decreased.
H.2. Identify and recommend interventions based on assessment results, scientific
evidence, client preferences, and contextual fit (e.g., expertise required for
implementation, cultural variables, environmental resources).
Outline
In this section, provide a comprehensive outline for the BACB Test Content Outline items
above. You may only use content from this course. You may use your textbook, assigned
articles, lectures, or instructional materials. You may not use content from outside of this
course.
G.1 A child is engaging in screaming when they do not know how to complete a
program. This program has become an aversive thing to the child in which the BCBA
implements negative reinforcement. The therapist will have the client mand for help
when they are completing this program. Taking away the screaming by replacing it
with manding for help will increase the client’s engagement in communication skills.
Furthermore, a BCBA is working on echoic programs. Each time the client makes the
correct vocalization, they give them a piece of candy. This is an example of positive
reinforcement as the addition of a piece of candy will increase the rate of responding in
their vocal behavior.
H.2 A client has been engaging in climbing on furniture to gain access to toys on
higher shelves. The BCBA decided to add a manding with point program in for the
client. As they are nonverbal, the pointing is more socially appropriate for the client.

, This will allow the client to point for items that they want which is used to reduce the
climbing behavior. It can also increase communication by them gesturing for what they
want.
H.3 A BCBA analyzes that a client has a deficit in social interaction with peers during
an initial assessment. The client answered the questions of a peer for 0% accuracy
during the 1.5-hour assessment. With the client not having this skill, the BCBA
discusses with parents if this is something they would like to work on. Once they
receive the consent from parents, the BCBA will implement a skill acquisition goal for
this client to increase their communication skills. This client will answer 10 social
questions from a peer for 90% of opportunities over 2 consecutive days. These
questions will allow the client to engage in conversation with their peers and increase
social interactions in the future that can build meaningful relationships.
Visual Support
Provide 1 visual aid to enhance understanding of a complex topic (e.g., chart, diagram,
table, illustration). You must complete this independently, and cannot use content that is
available on the Internet.
