4. Sample Essay 1 (Opinion: Agree/Disagree)
Question:
Some people think that technology has made life easier, while others believe it has made life more
complicated. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
Answer (260 words):
Technology has become a crucial part of modern life, but its impact is debated. While some argue it
simplifies daily activities, others feel it creates unnecessary complications.
On one hand, technology undoubtedly makes tasks easier. For instance, smartphones allow instant
communication with family or colleagues worldwide, reducing delays and improving productivity.
Similarly, online banking and shopping save valuable time, allowing people to focus on work or
personal life. These developments clearly demonstrate that technology brings convenience.
On the other hand, critics claim technology complicates life. Constant notifications, social media
distractions, and digital dependence have created new forms of stress. For example, people often
feel pressured to respond immediately to messages, even outside work hours, leading to burnout.
Additionally, excessive screen time can harm mental health.
In my opinion, technology’s benefits far outweigh its drawbacks. The complications it brings are
often due to misuse rather than the tools themselves. With discipline and balance, technology can
be a powerful ally in improving daily life.
Conclusion:
Although technology can sometimes create stress, it has undeniably simplified communication and
work. Used wisely, it makes life easier, not harder.
