and complex supply chain that encompasses global and local sourcing, vehicle
assembly, storage, and distribution. The company’s commitment to superior quality
standards, long-term supplier partnerships, and its renowned Toyota Production
System (TPS) underscores the critical importance of effective information
management and communication across its supply chain. However, recent
disruptions, including component shortages in 2019 and severe flooding in 2022, have
exposed the inherent vulnerabilities of modern supply chains and emphasised the
need for more resilient information-sharing mechanisms. This report examines two
emerging trends in innovative technology applications Blockchain Technology and the
Internet of Things (IoT) and explores how their adoption by Toyota’s supply chain
managers can enhance information flow, strengthen communication, and improve
overall resilience and competitiveness in an increasingly uncertain business
environment.

case study, it can be deduced that innovative technologies, information, and
communication are essential to Toyota. Evaluate two (2) new trends in

use to improve information sharing and communications in their supply chain.
