Clinical Manifestations:
PATHOGENESIS • Pulmonary
 Ingestion of Eggs Symptoms: Cough,
 Hatching and Larval Migration: wheezing, and transient
 Pulmonary Phase: pulmonary infiltrates
(Loeffler syndrome).
 Return to the Intestine:.
• Gastrointestinal
 Adult Worms Symptoms: Abdominal
pain, cramps, and in severe
cases, bowel obstruction.
• Complications:
Intussusception, volvulus,
pancreatitis, cholecystitis,
and liver abscess
