EVALUATION OF LABORATORY PERFORMANCE
Performance Evaluations Total 6% of Final Grade
Administration of Intermittent Intravenous Infusions 2%
Tracheostomy Suctioning 2%
Medication Administration Through NG or G-Tube 2%
Absence from Laboratory Performance Evaluations:
• A student who is absent from a laboratory performance evaluation has forfeited the first (1st)
opportunity to demonstrate the evaluation. The performance evaluation that must be
completed within one (1) week of the original testing date/time is considered the second (2nd)
performance evaluation. The student will be observed by two faculty, and failure of this
attempt constitutes a course failure and a final course letter grade of F.
• A student who is absent from a laboratory performance evaluation in the case of extenuating
circumstances must notify the laboratory faculty as soon as possible of the extenuating
circumstance (including but not limited to hospitalization, childbirth, major accidents, injury
or bereavement). Documentation from the student explaining the extenuating circumstance
may be required by the faculty. The student must complete the first (1st) performance
evaluation, as per laboratory faculty, within one (1) week of the original testing date/time.
• Students can miss a laboratory performance evaluation only once for any reason;
other missed laboratory performance evaluations will result in a course failure and
a final course letter grade of F.

, STUDENT LEARNING GUIDELINES:
1. The purpose of the lab experience is to practice psychomotor skills.
2. Complete Pre-Lab Prep prior to each lab class (Refer to Lab schedule).
3. If a student is absent, it is their responsibility to complete lab material within one week of missed lab &
review with lab instructor.
4. Students are expected to practice on their own time to enhance skill acquisition.
5. Students are responsible for leaving the lab in a neat and orderly condition at conclusion of lab session or
practice.
6. Students are expected to bring their lab kits to each lab class.
Open Lab Practice:
Lab hours will be posted outside of Professional Assistant (PA) offices. You may schedule practice
time by contacting the following PAs:

If a student needs to cancel or reschedule practice time, please notify the PAs as soon as possible.
