INTRODUCTION
Hydrochloric acid is a strong, monobasic acid with the molecular formula HCl. It is formed by
dissolving hydrogen chloride gas in water.
PHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Colorless, fuming liquid with a sharp, pungent odor.Highly corrosive and soluble in water,
forming an acidic solution.Boiling point: -85°C (for HCl gas).
CHEMICAL PROPERTIES
3. Chemical Properties:Acidic Nature: Completely ionizes in water.
[ \text{HCl} \rightarrow \text{H}^+ + \text{Cl}^- ]Reaction with Metals:
Produces salt + hydrogen gas.
