you are in Alicante. My duty times in the Solenta Hotel are between 11:00 and 14:30. You
can see these timings on the information board. You will also find all the emergency
telephone numbers should you have any problems- my mobile number and the office’s
number is on the board, as well as the local authorities.
Even though your holiday is just starting, I do need to mention that the day before you
depart, I will put all of your information on the information board. You will be provided
with a customer feedback form on the aircraft. Could I please ask that you fill this in. If
you would like to pre-book your seats, please speak to me at the end of the meeting. This
does provide you with a chance to skip the queues in the airport- it is 7 euros per adult,
but children are free. I would recommend this for families with small children as there are
300 people on your flight and you are not guaranteed to all be sat together.
Reception is open 24 hours a day. However, there is a night duty officer between the
hours of 11:30 and 05:30. You can purchase a safety deposit box at reception- I
recommend this for large sums of money, passports and legal documents.
If you have not exchanged your Euro’s, I would recommend purchasing them from the
local bank or reception. Please do not purchase Euro’s from backstreet shops. The
current exchange rate is 1.17 Euros to the pound. Please be aware that shops close
between the hours of 13:00 and 16:00 for siesta.
The bar that is to the left of you is open between 09:00 and 03:00. Happy hour is
between 12:00 and 13:00. The restaurant is open between 06:00 and 10:30 for
breakfast- this is a continental breakfast with hot food available until 10:00- it opens
again between 11:30 and 15:00 for lunch- this is a buffet style lunch that includes a
series of food depending on the day. For exact food choices please check the menu
located at the bar. The restaurant then opens from 17:00 and 22:00 for dinner. This is
located next to the bar.
There is a swimming pool outside, but please check the depth markings to ensure that
your children are safe. There is a new Alicante Aqua Park Flamingo that opened last
month. It was rated one of the top 5 waterparks in Europe with zip lines, slides through
shark-filled lagoons and splash areas for kids. BBT Travel offer discounted excursions on
Tuesdays and Thursdays to the Aqua Park- from £20 per adult, £10 per child. The coach
would be leaving at 09:00 and returning at 18:00. If you are interested in this excursion
then please stay at the end of the welcome meeting.
I would like to advise you all to not purchase excursions or packages from street vendors
as they could scam you, or charge extra money.
Temperatures can change very quickly, so if you are planning a hike or walk please
check local weather report for warnings. However, if you are attending one of our guided
tours- e.g. our Alicante Private Walking Tour from £30 per adult, £20 per child. Where
you will have the opportunity to discover all its main landmarks and monuments as well
as local crafts. Then the weather report will be checked by staff and precautions will be
taken for you. There are multiple tours throughout the day that last approximately 6
hours. Furthermore, some regions have started billing negligent climbers and other
adventurers that have to be rescued, so please be aware of your surroundings.

walking in the street only wearing a bikini or swimming shorts/trunks as being bare
chested has been banned. Some local councils will impose fines if you are caught on the
promenade or adjacent streets.
